M.R. Documentary: BEST 3 HOURS IN LAS VEGAS OF ALL TIME!!!

WOW!! is all i can say about last night. we had an open bar event at the peter lik gallery
(check out his amazing work, it's unbelievable in person) and we were understaffed for bartenders, so who do they call on?? yes the interns!!! another intern tyler and i held the fort down for the TYKU bar. we were making pear blossom cocktails and serving beer. of course i was pretty nervous going into it but as you make 3 or 4 cocktails you get the hang of it.

we were only serving those 3 drinks since it was open bar to all of them. live music, good dj, beautiful women, and rich sophisticated people made it a very awesome night. you want to know the very best part of the night was? KEEPING THE TIPS!!!! lets just say i made 3 shifts of work at ben sherman in three hours!!!

ALWAYS tip your bartender even if it is a buck, man some people had the nerve to not tip when drinks were free come on now. there was this one guy who kept coming one drink after another and NO tip the whole night....freakin deusch bag. not only did i walk away with a hefty wad of cash i came out with 7 bottles of absolut pear vodka!! 4 of which are for my boss and 3 will be for myself. the gallery paid for all the alcohol and there was plenty of it left around. if i could i wouldve taken cases of beer with me.

of all the work and boring work i do this was well worth it all, if they could throw me some more of these jobs i would be one very happy camper. it is easy to see who people can get caught up with this career of bar tending because if you make that much cash in one night it's hard to walk away from it. it's easy work and the time flies let me tell you that. three hours felt like 1.5 hours. but getting the education and degree are the most important things because bar tending can only get you so far for now. i just got a taste of it last night and i think i would want to do it part-time with a full-time job.

i treated my roomies plus rachel out to firefly after working our event. very good tapas place with sangria and bomb ass mojitos. if you ever want to go give me a call casue i'm always down to go. oh and you've got to try the banana-nutella sandwich it's to die for!

star sightings

I saw NBA players rookie Mike Conley Jr. and 2nd year player rudy gay at the venetian yesterday as well. with my recent encounters with athletes i was reluctant to ask for a picture with them. i dont know if i mentioned it in a previous blog but i saw richard jeffereson at body english 2 weeks ago and took a pic. he saw me and i read his lips becasue the music is very loud he says "stop that" and before that i mentioned donovan mcnabb was a deusch to me. so i was reluctant to ask these athletes for a picture.

Here is a picture of a bottle of TYKU. it is a new all natural asian liqueur that is only in NY and NV right now as we are promoting it here. made up of all natural ingredients pomegranate and ginseng. it's considered japanese sake but with a twist to it and it works well with most hard liquors. so keep an eye out for it as it will be at the nearest beverage store to you. i'm going to try and get my own bottle for myself and mix you up my specialty drink.
