Final Training Day

08SEP14
They call today super bowl of training here but in my opinion we were just ready to get it over with. When there is no pressure to qualify or its not mandatory no one really cares. A lot of us are just ready to move on and it's kind of just a filler day while here. We go through the convoy training to familiarize with scenarios and although we shouldn't be leaving the hospital it's good to familiarize ourselves with the training. My role was CLS (combat life support) and I applied my tourniquet as my part.

We or the higher ups as we like to say (higher ranking) got a keurig coffee maker for the DS and catered a bbq dinner for the entire class plus DS. Wow the fried chicken was amazing for some southern cooking and the bbq sauce for pulled pork was awesome. The DS have a lot of patience although it is their job to train it takes a special type of military personnel to do what they do. They are army soldiers or DS whose job is to train and ensure us sailors pass qualification and are proficient in shooting weapons which none of us have even touched before. They risk their health and safety out there in the range with us and are up as early as 4AM on some days too. Kudos to Ragan, Zachary, Lehman, Davis, Goodman, Thompson, Ballard, and Dove.
