Next Stop

The week here in NMPS has drawn to a close and it was simple and somewhat relaxing. As most people would say the calm before the storm. All it is is double checking paperwork and medical, uniform issue, and a few briefs that we haven't heard already in our careers. We went probably 1 out of 4 full days here the rest we were let out early to take care of what we needed to do and if everything was completed you had the rest of the day off.

It makes sense that they treat you a lot nicer here and give you more room for liberty as they give you the benefit of the doubt that you are mature enough to take care of "business" here.

The new uniforms are pretty sweet looking and makes me feel somewhat like Arnold Scwardnegger in Predator. There's around 60 of us mix of different rates (jobs) but a majority are medical physicians, nurses, and corpsman. Of this group 85% are reservist. It's crazy to think that they were just working as civilians a few weeks ago and now are called to duty to deploy. I have no doubt in their capabilities as they will get the training but to mentally prepare yourself like that who most have kids, significant others, and personal businesses to leave behind much respect to them.

On to the next stop today and I will miss the free wifi I had here at the hotel not sure what the status on the next stop will be with my connection. 6 nights here hotel room to myself and it didn't get utilized like I had hoped but oh well...
