new week same old crap

friday was the highlight of my weekend. hung out at a dive bar with the some of the people in the 944 office. after a few drinks we walked down the street to the hard rock and watched the killers last three songs. the rest of the weekend was pretty chill and nothing worth noting.

after memorial weekend about a week ago, the official/unofficial start of summer is here. i have been wanting to bbq and grill something as of late. i caught a special episode of the food networks "all-star bbq" where most of the top chefs give a bbq recipe. most of the recipes are pretty simple and easy to do and one that caught my eye is bobby flays green chile cheeseburgers. mark my word i have to try this recipe this summer. the bbq sauce for the bbq chicken looked delicious as well. here's a link to the recipes from the episode.

so it's hard not to escape the paris hilton and lindsey lohan talk these days. i don't have a problem with it, but keep it to the magazines, entertainment shows, and internet to report it. it does irritate me though that fox news, cnn, msnbc and other "news" channels take 5-30 min. segments just to report it.

give us real hard news and not this soft-news crap. i feel like we always here about a soldier or soldiers dying in the war but we never know who they really are. i never hear the actual names or see pictures of them, i feel like it's always a quick segment and they move on to something that is less important.

so with not as many nba games on t.v. i've been keeping up with the stanley cup finals. our closest professional team the anaheim mighty ducks are in and are up 3-1 right now against ottawa. it's been really exciting and fun to watch, but i know i can only watch hockey in the post-season.

i hope most of you have been keeping up with the cavs because we are witnessing a player that will be remembered for the ages. the nba needed lebron to bring back excitement and new fans, and it seems as if he is doing that.
